Consultation at home

Dogs exhibit different types of behavior. For our dogs it is ‘normal dog behavior’. For some owners, the dog’s behavior is not always desirable. The development of problem behavior* often occurs in a very important period for the dog, the socialization period, but stress is also often an important cause or traumatic experiences play a role. There may also be a physical cause. See the bottom of the page for examples.

There is a lot that can be done about undesirable behavior.
If you start with expert help in time, you will often be helped again quickly. The longer you wait, the longer it will take to resolve it. Asking for help is nothing to be ashamed of. Raising a dog is simply not easy. That takes a lot of time from everyone and it can happen that something creeps in.

Guiding your dog’s behavior in the right direction is just as much part of the dog’s well-being as visiting the vet.

During the (behavioral) consultation, the behavior expert will visit your home and see the dog in his or her own environment. And a questionnaire that you have completed in advance will be discussed. Your dog and its behavior will also be extensively observed.

In approximately 2 hours, the best possible picture and insight into your dog’s ‘problem’ behavior and the reason for it will be obtained.

A (re)educational advice will then be provided and the training will start together with the expert.

After a number of weeks, there will be a number of telephone consultations and, if necessary, a repeat consultation at home or a private lesson on the LUPO course site. (the costs for a repeat consultation or a private lesson are not included).

Please realize that there is no ready-made solution for most behavioral problems. You also have to invest time yourself to change your dog’s behavior. This requires commitment and perseverance from you as the owner.

Behavioral guidance in the form of a home consultation is the first step, you and your dog will certainly enjoy this for the rest of your dog’s life!

The costs for the consultation are € 269.00, including aftercare in the form of a number of telephone consultations. The costs do not include any additional costs, such as parking and travel costs (€ 0.55 per kilometer driven). A digital report of the consultation can be provided on request, the costs for this are € 75.

LUPO is certified by the PDTE and has the Animal Welfare quality mark.
